Overview: Angus Donald is the author of the bestselling Outlaw Chronicles, a series of nine novels set in the 12th/13th centuries and featuring a gangster-ish Robin Hood and his loyal lieutenant Sir Alan Dale. 02 Arthur's Escape
Arthur's Escape is the second episode (of five) in The Broken Kingdom, which is the first novel in the Wormkind Chronicles fantasy series about King Arthur, set in a post-Roman Britain. After the massacre at Penrith, Arthur and his small band of warriors are determined to rescue the Princess Morgan from the grip of King Urien of Rheged and make their escape back to Dumnonia. Vastly outnumbered, ill equipped and exhausted, they will need all of Arthur's guile and determination to succeed.
03 Arthur's Revenge
This is the third episode of The Broken Kingdom, a new Arthurian fantasy novel, which is delivered in small sections of 70 pages or so (about 20,000 words) as an eBook only. Episodes One and Two are available, and should be read before this one. There will probably be five episodes in all. The action takes place in a post-Roman Britain in which the various British kingdoms are almost constantly at war with each other. Saxons and other Germanic tribes, driven by climate change, are flooding into the eastern part of the island looking for land, and a terrifying dragon Cythraul, has been awoken from a deep slumber in the frozen North and threatens to destroy all humanity. Arthur ap Uthur, a brave young British warrior, is struggling to unite the British kingdoms against their common enemies, with the aid of Merlin the Sorcerer. But can he face up to the evil of the Wormkind who infest his beautiful land? And will the rivalries and hatreds of The Broken Kingdom tear all his good work apart?
04 The Broken Kingdom
Arthur's Folly is the fourth episode (of five) in The Broken Kingdom, which is the first novel in the Wormkind Chronicles fantasy series about King Arthur, set in a post-Roman Britain. After his victory on the Plain of Salis, Arthur is dispatched with his cavalrymen on a peace mission to Kernow by his brother Caius, the newly crowned King of Dumnonia. But hidden dangers lurks on the road ahead of them and Arthur will need all his skill and courage just to survive the journey.
